Windows 10 News: Microsoft Expands List of Compatible Devices for Technical Preview
The Windows 10 Technical Preview is slowly making its way onto various devices, but last month, many called the list "scanty." However the list of devices has recently grown immensely during last week's update.
Gabe Aul from Blogging Windows said that many factors were involved when it came to the small list released last month.
"We had to select from the set of phones that had sufficient system partition sizes configured by the manufacturer. This was necessary for us to be able to in-place upgrade the phones," he said.
Now that more has been done, Aul continued to give readers a quick update. Partition stitching came into the main code. With more testing, beloved devices such as the Lumia 930 and HTC Windows Phone are now compatible with Windows 10. Finally, support for China Mobile Operator will also be available for the users of Windows Insider in China.
According to DNA India, many problems are still waiting to be figured out.
"Dual-SIM features along with Messaging lacks, search, message drafts, voice notes, spam filters, support for multiple attachments, and other features are severely lacking in the Windows 10 Technical Preview," they said
The Verge warned that the preview would not work very well with some Windows Phone. If it's a source of daily importance, then they advised users who want to try out the Preview to wait as the device could break if proper precautions were not met.
"In addition, Cortana only speaks English and Internet Tethering will break your phone if you don't turn it off before powering down your device," The Verge added.
The next Window 10 Technical Preview is slated to reveal more information regarding devices and features sometime next week.
