Windows 10 Launch Date News: Microsoft Gears Up to Release New OS in Summer 2015

Microsoft surprised its customers this week by announcing that their new program, Windows 10, will be available this summer and not the fall. People speculate that the company is releasing the new system earlier in hopes to catch more potential customers who will be back-to-school shopping.

Terry Myerson, the executive vice president of the company's operating systems group, made the announcement through the Window's blog. Along with the announcement, Myerson said that Windows 10 will be available in 190 countries and in 111 languages. The system will also be available to those who have legal versions of the software and those who carry pirated versions of it.

The company looks to focus on its biggest target area, China. The blog post discussed how Microsoft teamed up with several Chinese companies to ensure the most consumer satisfaction.

PC manufacturer Lenovo will offer the upgrade services at 25,000 service centers and select retail stores in China. Lenovo also announced earlier this year that it wants to start making Windows phones and plans to release its first units in the middle of this year via China Mobile.

Tencent also teamed up with Windows. The social networking and gaming services company stated that the Windows 10 upgrade would be free to those who have Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 in China. Their famous QQ app will also be universal with Windows 10.

Internet security company Qihu will bring Window 10 to their customers for free as well. Xiaomi, a top smartphone distributor will allow a small group to test out the Windows 10 system before making it available to all of its customers.

News of the early release have pleased many Microsoft fans, and they are eager to get their hands on the new system.
