Windows 10 Latest News: Microsoft Endeavors to Eliminate All Bugs Prior to Wednesday’s Release
Even as Microsoft Corp. is all set to release its latest operating system Windows 10 on Wednesday, July 29, last minute efforts are on eliminate all bugs. Recently Microsoft fixed a bug that was detected by users while uninstalling programs.
Quoting a report in CNET, Latin Post says that the bug was found in an update released to testers on Saturday. This bug reportedly led to the Windows Control Panel to crash while uninstalling a program. This update was dubbed as KB3074681, and it was meant to be a minor adjustment in the final version of Windows 10.
Microsot engineering manager (Operating Systems Group) Gabe Aul tweeted that subesequently the Redmond, Washington-based tech giant released yet another update to fix the bug on Monday.
The most recent update to Windows 10, known as KB3074683, allows users to uninstall programs from the Control Panel without any risk of it crashing. In addition, the update allows users to remove programs through the new Windows 10 Settings screen. Nevertheless, most Windows users are actually accustomed to using the Control Panel to uninstall programs.
Currently, Microsoft is said to be moving swiftly to eliminate all known bugs and resolve issues before the rollout of Windows 10. Instead of permitting one and all to download the free upgrade to Windows 10 on its launch date, now Microsoft plans to release the latest operating system in waves.
Most loyal Microsoft users, who took part in the new operating system's testing, will now be the first to receive the update to Windows 10. These users, who are in the Windows Insider Program, tested each new build of Windows 10 and provided feedback to the company based on their individual experiences.
If any new bug is discovered even after the Windows 10 release on Wednesday, it will be resolved ahead of the next wave of customers receiving the update. The next groups of people who will receive the update are those who are currently using Windows 7 and 8 and have reserved their copy on their computers.
According to the report, Microsoft will automatically send out new updates to the users as and when new bugs and issues are discovered. If the users prefer, they can also go into Settings and check for new updates.
