Windows 10 Anniversary Update News: Latest Changes Include Microsoft Edge, Cortana 2.0

In line with its Anniversary, Microsoft Windows has unveiled an update for its Windows 10 platform and according to reports, the said features shift its gears to become a better operating system or OS.

Microsoft's Windows 10 update has brought the OS to new heights with its new look, such as the Microsft Edge extensions, Cortana enhancements, and user interface (UI) changes.

According to The Verge, the Edge extensions show similarities to those of Chrome's, which include, EverNote, LastPass, 1Password, and AdBlock, among others. Web notifications are also integrated and these let websites to push notifications to the Windows 10 Action Center. Also, users can right -click on the back button to see a tab history or pin it.

With regard Cortana, Windows 10 is set to bring its lock screen feature. As per reports, users can also make a note, post a reminder, and listen to music, among others without having to log in. In addition, Cortana has become brighter, as it can set appointments in Microsoft Outlook, as well as send a document to friends. It is further revealed hat Cortana's capabilities are enhanced to boost the OS' productivity.

With Microsoft running on more than 350 million gadgets on a global scale, it is assumed that many users are expecting major changes on the Windows 10. As per Engadget, while this is the case for the time being, it is seen that Windows Anniversary update for Windows 10 is better and will be appreciated by users.

Overall, Windows 10 Anniversary update is set to be released on Aug. 2.
