'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire' New Host News: Chris Harrison of 'The Bachelor' to Take on Game Show

A new but very familiar face is about to take on the hit show 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' and it's none other than veteran 'Bachelor' host Chris Harrison. It has just been officially confirmed that the famous host will be taking over for a new season coming this Fall.

As the longrunning Disney/ABC distributed show, 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' gears up for its 14th season, the fans are anxious as to the new host, Harrison who will definitely add a different flavor for the show. Harrison, has been hosting the famous dating show, 'The Bachelor' as well as 'The Bachelorette' for quite a while now and the company has been confident that Harrison will also be successful in hosting the game show.

Despite the excitement of many, some have already been wondering as to what will happen to Harrison's gig at the hit dating reality show as it is now opening a new season of 'The Bachelorette' which will have two bachelorettes in the show.

But no worries, it has just been confirmed according to reports that Harrison will remain to be 'The Bachelor' host at the same time as 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' it will surely be a very hectic schedule for the veteran host but it is doubted that he will have a hard time since he has been doing these things for years.

"Chris is an accomplished host and valued member of the Disney|ABC family and now he'll also be bringing his classic talent and charm to Millionaire," Janice Marinelli, president, Disney|ABC Home Entertainment and Television Distribution, said in a statement.

Meanwhile Lisa Hackner, executive vice president, Daytime & Syndicated Programming, ABC Entertainment Group is also confident about Harrison. "Chris has hosted 19 seasons of The Bachelor, and with that has developed a very deep connection with the TV audience. He is smart, warm and a formidable host and we are thrilled to have him join Who Wants To Be A Millionaire."

Harrison himself is quite hyped about his new gig as he said in his recently released statement and on his social media. "There are few shows on television as strong and iconic as Millionaire,'" Harrison said, "This is a great fit and I'm extremely excited and honored to take on this new endeavor," he added.

Meanwhile, Harrison also expressed his excitement on Twitter writing, "Have always been a huge fan of this show. Can't wait to be the new host next fall!"
