'White Collar' Season 6 Spoilers: Dramatic Revelations Set for Final Season
As USA Network's police procedural drama 'White Collar' steps into its final season, fans of the series are either looking for, or staying far away from spoilers. Apparently, some pretty major spoilers have been revealed about the sixth and final season of the show.
On that note, TV Guide reports that Tim DeKay's character, Peter Burke, is the one with something to hide, not Neal Caffrey, played by Matt Bomer.
The final season will also feature a surprise return of Matthew Keller (Ross McCall), much to the delight of series' executive producer and creator Jeff Eastin.
In an interview with TV Guide he talked about the relationship between Neal Caffrey and Keller. "That's a relationship I've always loved because they're always the shadowy reflection of each other, that yin and yang. It gives Neal a chance to dig in and look inside and ask, 'Who am I?' Ultimately, that's what I think the series has been about: Neal trying to figure out who he is. Is he a good guy or a bad guy?"
Of course the real question is whether or not Burke will be able to keep his promise to Caffrey. The writers are tight lipped, except to say that the FBI may play a significant factor in this promise right up to the final episode of the series.
While being interviewed for TVLine, Eastin explained, "We had seasons where Peter can promise anything he wants, but the FBI is a different story."
Adding, "That promise does figure in relatively heavily toward the end of the year. Keller does ask Neal, 'How many times has Peter promised you this? And how many times has it failed?' That becomes a pivotal moment in the finale."
Looking back at the show's six season run, Eastin hopes the final season is everything the fans expect, "My hope is that people who are real fans of the show, who've stuck with us this entire time, will not be disappointed."
'White Collar' airs Thursdays at 9 pm EDT on USA.
