WePlay Dota 2 League Season 3 Finale Details, Live Stream: Top Teams Face Off for $200,000 [WATCH]
WePlay Dota 2 League Season 3 is coming to an end on Sunday with its roughly $200,000 prize pool at the International Exhibition Centre in Kiev, Ukraine.
The tournament which started last August, features teams from all four DotA2 regions; China, America, SEA/Korea and Europe.
The 16 invited squads at the Main Event will be faced by the top four teams of each qualifier divisions after moving to the second stage. The second stage winners will receive a direct seed while the runner-up teams will travel to Ukraine and fight for the remaining slots.
The WePlay Compendium which will be available for sale on Steam will increase the prize pool by 25 percent of the total sales.
One of the strongest teams to watch out for in this year's tournament is Team Secret. With team members: Clement "Puppey" Ivanov, Gutav "s4" Magnusson, Kuro "KuroKy" Salehi Takhasomi, Dane Johan "BigDaddy" Sundstein and Israeli Tal "Fly" Aizik, according to Bleacher Report.
A Top team from the Asian division is Team Malaysia even though their team captain, Chai "Mushi" Yee Fung decided to drop out of the lineup. The Official members left were Lee Kong "kYxY" Yang, Chong Xin "Ohaiyo" Khoo and Wai Pern "Net" Lim.
Last November, Artem "fng" Barshak of the Navi Squad, was replaced by Arthur "Goblak" Kostenko. However, Artem's move wasn't performance related since the results at D2CL could attest to that.
On the other hand, the team's results from "last tournaments showed that the team has lacked the leader's decision lately," said Navi in a statement.
The main event for the offline playoffs at the 12-year-old venue with 70,000 square feet in Kiev will last for four days and begin on Thursday.
Fans can view the live stream on Sunday via WePlay TV's Twitch channel at 5 pm CEST or 2 am ET.
The event's broadcast will be in Ukrainian, but for English transmission, fans can check the official joinDOTA website.
