'Wentworth' Season 5 Spoilers, Release Date News: Danielle Cormack Reprises Her Role Despite Bea Smith's Death?

If there is one thing that fans of "Wentworth" are eager to know aside from the release date of the next season, that is if Danielle Cormack will reprise her role as Bea Smith. While the death of her character was clear in the season 4 finale, several fans still hope that Bea somehow managed to survive the stabbings.

According to executive producer Jo Porter, the decision to kill of Cormack's character in the previous season was a difficult decision to make, especially knowing how loved both Danielle Cormack and Bea Smith was by fans.

While it is clear from Porter's statement that Bea is already dead, some fans remain confident that the executive producer might just be lying in the interest of the show. There have been several cases in the past when executive producers of popular series led fans to believe the death of their major characters, just as in the case of "Game of Thrones'" Jon Snow and "The Blacklist's" Liz, who both turned out the be alive. Because of this, fans believe that it is not totally impossible for Cormack to be back as Bea for season 5.

Another reason why fans remain hopeful that Bea is alive is because in the old series where "Wentworth" is based, Bea Smith did not die young but lived to an old age.

Meanwhile, there is a possibility for Cormack to return for the fifth season despite Bea's death--through flashbacks. There are speculations that Cormack will be back next season to appear in flashback scenes, which are meant to shed light on the mysteries in the show.

The creators of the series have yet to announce the release date of "Wentworth" season 5.
