We Love Christian Music Awards 2015: 44,000 Votes Cast for 24 Categories
Momentum continues to build for Christian music's most innovative honors, the WE LOVE CHRISTIAN MUSIC AWARDS, as voters turned out in record numbers for the third annual awards season.
The awards are presented by NewReleaseTuesday.com--[ one of the largest Christian music sites online] --in conjunction with its primary sponsor, new Christian music streaming service The Overflow (www.TheOverflow.com).
Fans cast more than 44,000 votes to pick their favorites in 24 categories, demolishing last year's record of 18,000 votes cast. Out of the total 44,831 votes, nearly 37,000 of them took the time to give their pick for the 2014 Fan Impact Award, a write-in category that recognizes the most inspiring and impactful artist of the past year.
With the voting period having concluded, attention now turns to the Rock & Worship Roadshow Tour, where Christian music fans will get to witness the announcements of an award during each of the 23 nights, complete with exclusive acceptance speeches from winners. (See below to find out when specific awards will be presented.)
"It's nearly impossible for the average Christian music fan to get to a big award ceremony," said NRT President/Founder Kevin McNeese. "So, we've brought the awards show to them. We've seen over the past few years how this portion of the evening has become such an important part of the tour experience."
McNeese hinted that there would be some very special guests appearing live to accept their awards.
And fans looking for an even more exciting experience can even register to help present the awards in front of the Roadshow crowd, as part of NRT's exclusive Fan Experience packages on the tour. Check the tour's website for prices and availability.
To reflect the partnership with The Rock & Worship Roadshow, attendees once again will have the exclusive opportunity to choose the winner of a special award category: The Roadshow Award for the best live performance on the tour. Concertgoers will have a special opportunity to cast their votes during the show.
Recent GRAMMY winners for KING & COUNTRY lead all artists in number of nominations, with a career high six nods, stemming from their sophomore release, Run Wild. Live Free. Love Strong. The man they with whom shared the GRAMMY win, Lecrae, has nominations for Urban/Rap Artist of the Year ("The Vibe Award"), Album of the Year and Male Artist of the Year.
