'Wayward Pines' Season 2 Premiere, Spoilers: A New Arrival Deals With Wayward Pines’ Mayhem
A newcomer is set to cope with Wayward Pines in a state of adversity and darkness in Fox's thriller series "Wayward Pines," according to recent spoilers.
According to Christian Post, a newcomer will deal with the chaos and rebellion in Wayward Pines, in which the residents fight one another with regard to the preservation of the endangered human race. This also serves as a follow-up to the death of Ethan, one of the lead characters of the series at the conclusion of season 1.
Based on Blake Crouch's novels of the same name, "Wayward Pines" season 2 is set to follow the events in season 1. With the second season approaching, the exact details on how this newcomer will face the challenges in the series storyline are yet to be revealed.
Fox, which renewed the series for season 2, also revealed that ten new episodes are set to be aired in 2016. Fox President for Entertainment David Madden told Variety that "Wayward Pines" had been a huge hit for them and the network.
According to Madden, they had been absolutely blown away by the mysterious and surprising world that executive producer M. Night Shyamalan and his crew created, and the twisting-and-turning storytelling that had drawn viewers in from day one.
Madden also said that season 2 was going to take the suspense, the vision of the future, and the haunting character drama to whole new levels, and they could not wait for the fans to continue that ride next year.
"Wayward Pines" creator and showrunner Chad Hodge will not be returning for season 2 while Shyamalan will still be on board. Hodge and Crouch are also working hand in hand for a TNT project entitled "Good Behavior," which is inspired on Crouch's novels and stars "Downton Abbey" actress Michelle Dockery.
"Wayward Pines" season 2 is set to be released in mid-2016.
