‘Wayward Pines’ Season 2 Premiere Date, Cast: Dr. Theo Sees Rampageous State of Wayward Pines?
Following the initial announcement that "Wayward Pines" would just be a one-season series, the show left its fans in the lurch. Recently though, it was confirmed that the widely-celebrated series would come back for yet another season.
According to reports, "Wayward Pines" season 2 will feature three main characters.
It can be remembered that in the final episode of season 1, Ethan Burke (Matt Dillon) died. With the protagonist now out of the picture, a group of young people referred to as the First Generation will hold the reins in the odd town of Wayward Pines.
The second installment of the series will see Jason Patric filling in the role of Dillon as the head of the town. He will play the character of Dr. Theo Yedlin, a tenacious surgeon whose laudable leadership skills would work to the advantage of the residents of the town.
Dr. Theo will discover the rampageous state of Wayward Pines and will make every effort to prevent the extinction of the human race.
According to spoilers, a new character will also step into the shoes of Harold Balinger, the toymaker in season 1 who tried to knock down the forces of the town but was slain by a member of the First Generation.
In the second season, Xander will step in to take the place of Balinger by using his charm to captivate the hearts of the residents when his plan is actually to take down Wayward Pines.
Reports also say that actor Dijmon Hounsou will play the role of CJ Mitchum, a historian equipped with sweeping knowledge about the history of the town.
"Wayward Pines" season 2 will premiere in the summer of 2016.
