'Watch Dogs 2' Release Date, News Update: Game Features No Towers?
Ubisoft's "Watch Dogs 2" is set to be different from its predecessor "Watch Dog." the new game is not set to feature towers.
The "Watch Dogs" franchise is set to transition from the first game with a tower-free "Watch Dogs 2," IGN has learned. As per the publication, the structures, which unlock maps, have been a significant part of the game, including other titles like "The Crew," "Far Cry," and "Assassin's Creed."
In his interview with Eurogamer, "Watch Dogs" creative director Jonathan Morin shared his thoughts on why the towers had been removed in the game sequel. Morin said that it was a game where one opened his map and everything was there. The director mentioned that there were no towers and players just had to explore the world.
With players set to play "Watch Dogs 2" with no towers, it is assumed that there would be changes when it comes to game play and game strategy. The first look at the game footage also suggests that players have to unlock more tasks to secure followers for hacker activist DedSec. It is further revealed that players have access to the full map at the start of the game, so a level of freedom when traveling and completing the task is assumed.
Along with playing the game with no towers, the game footage also revealed that the title is set in San Francisco and it follows Marcus Holloway as the new protagonist. While wearing Holloway's shoes, players can also use gadgets and advanced hacking strategies
Ubisoft's "Watch Dogs 2" is slated to come out on Nov. 15.
