'Watch Dogs 2' Release Date, News: Title Tops Publisher's Game Sales, Besting ‘Ghost Recon?’
In line with Ubisoft's "Watch Dogs 2," it is revealed that the title could be one of the studio's pride.
During a recent earning's call, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot revealed that "Watch Dogs 2" could be one of the company's top games in terms of sales factor in a span of 30 years, according to Game Spot. In a statement, as cited by the publication, Guillemot said that "Watch Dogs 2" had the potential to be one of Ubisoft's best-selling games of all time.
The CEO also mentioned that he was poised in the title's gameplay and story progress the production team had done, which included the title's more seamless online operations and multiplayer modes. In addition, the game stars characters, which he described as engaging, as well as a relatable storyline that is based in a hacker culture.
According to Guillemot, the "Watch Dogs 2" announcement at the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016 received positive feedback from fans. As per the CEO, this is evidenced by the title's trailer, which had more than 30 million views.
For CFO Alain Martinez, "Watch Dogs 2" is set to top "Ghost Recon." In his interview with WCCFTech, Martinez said that if one looked at "Ghost Recon," he would say that it would be closer to a "Rainbow Six," so he would rank it a bit lower that "Watch Dogs." However, he had a disclaimer, saying that people would see what happened.
Developed and published by Ubisoft, "Watch Dogs 2" is a forthcoming open world action-adventure third-person video game and serves as sequel to "Watch Dogs" in 2014.
Ubisoft's "Watch Dogs 2" is set to be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows on Nov. 15.
