After 25 long years, inXile Entertainment has finally released a sequel to the original post-apocalyptic RPG. Drawing support from thousands of donations via Kickstarter, the developers are proud to release 'Wasteland 2'.

The original game 'Wasteland' came out in 1988 and was both critically acclaimed and successful. While the first title was supposed to be followed by two sequels, both of them ended up floundering. However, that's now a thing of the past as gamers get a chance to step into the world again, and this time the features and graphics have improved ten fold.

Since the release of 'Wasteland 2' many big named game review sites have thrown their hats into the ring, and dished out their two cents on this allegedly great blast from the past.

Starting with PC Gamer, a quote from their review reads, "It took Brian Fargo 26 years to get to revisit the world of the Desert Rangers. It took a $3 million Kickstarter campaign to fund inXile's initial development. And it took a welcome resurgence in complex computer role-playing games to make it all possible. 'Wasteland 2' lives up to its legacy."

Another thing to note is that the original 'Wasteland' served as the major inspiration for Interplay's acclaimed 'Fallout' series. On that note, PC Gamer gives 'Wasteland 2' an 83 out of 100.

Their review concluded with this statement, "An excellent RPG despite its glitches, with combat and writing as good as its predecessors'." Evidently, they feel the game was worth waiting 25 years for.

Eurogamer has similar sentiments about the new inXile Entertainment title, but started off by highlighting some of the negative attributes.

"There are some definite frustrations for players of all skill levels, including the inability to add notes to the map, the lack of map markers, mission objectives not always being clear, the pointless ability to type in conversation options that not once gave me anything but a variant on "Huh?", and the necessity of creeping around the map to avoid a bad combat initiation."

However, despite all of that, they gave the game an 8 out of 10 and ended their review with the positives. "Choose magic, choose a shotgun, or better still, find time for both; computer RPG fans haven't had it this good in ages."
