'Mad Men' actor Jon Hamm has been rumored to be in consideration for the role as Negan on 'The Walking Dead' for quite a while now. A recent MTV interview with the actor suggest that this may not only be true, but Hamm may indeed be interested in the part.

When asked if he would be interested, the actor says that he loves what the creator (Robert Kirkman) is doing with the show. He then states:

"I don't know, we'll see. It would be fun, that's for sure. I'd have to gain weight and work out, but that would be fun too."

Hamm has just wrapped up the final episodes for his AMC series, so his schedule would definitely be open. 'The Walking Dead' is also not interested in revealing the character just yet in the series anyway, so this also leaves him some time.

In a past interview with MTV, show creator Robert Kirkman stated:

"As far as Negan casting goes, Scott and I are always talking about who we would put in that, it's definitely on our minds, and there are definitely a lot of candidates. But I wouldn't expect Negan too terribly soon, although he is definitely in the plan. It's a 99% lock that he's going to be in the show eventually, so be on the lookout for that."
