'Walking Dead' Season 5 Cast News: Actor Ross Marquand Officially Joins AMC Series
Actor Ross Marquand has been officially added to the Walking Dead series as a major character. Five seasons into the show series. As the Walking Dead was originally based on a comic book series, one has to wonder, who will Ross be playing? And why is such a major role added now?
Marquand is used to small roles on a variety of shows like Madmen and Phineas and Ferb, but never has he landed a big part in a show as popular as this. Rumor has it that the small-time star could be bringing The Walking Dead's first openly gay character to the show for the rest of the season. We know that the character in question is called Aaron, according to comic book author Robert Kirkman, but we haven't been fully introduced to Aaron's purpose yet.
Aaron is described as a recruiter from the Alexandria Safe-Zone who leads Rick's group to Alexandria. But other than that, not much else is known.Yet even without knowing the storyline, we know that if Marquand takes on Aaron's role, the show could become more dynamic, possibly with added drama.
When we left off at the mid-season finale, Beth had been murdered and the entire crew was on edge. Aaron could provide the support the Walking Dead members need to survive.
Co-executive producers Denise Huth and Scott M. Gimple warn the show's fans not to be lulled into a false sense of security. They promise that the series will only get darker to watch from here.
The Walking Dead Season 5 will return on February 8th on AMC.
