'Vikings' Season 4 Spoilers: Queen Aslaug to Lead Vikings; Will Rolo Follow His Brother’s Footsteps? [VIDEO]

When 'Vikings' return for its Season 4 on History Channel, it will possibly be focusing on the latest developments in the lives of Queen Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) and Rolo (Clive Standen).

A report in IB Times says that while Ragnar Lothbrok's (Travis Fimmel) brother prepares himself to marry Princess Gisla of West Francia (Morgane Polanski), his wife might assume new responsibilities till he recuperates from his injuries. However, the main question is whether or not Standen's character will follow the footsteps of his brother.

While this accomplished warrior was against the christening of the King, he may possibly also decide to convert himself to fulfill his personal benefits. At the recently held Monte-Carlo Television Festival, Standen teased major changes in for character Rolo in 'Vikings' Season 2.

According to Enstarz, Standen said, "The reason I haven't got long hair now is a big, big plot spoiler for season 4. That's going to be part of the uphill struggle that Rollo has essentially because the French Princess Gisla (Morgane Polanski) is not actually a big fan of the Vikings, let alone Rollo. So he has a mountain to climb and he's going to have to win her to his side."

Standen further said that the 'Vikings' cast and crew has completed filming five episodes of Season 4. He added, "We're doing 20 episodes this year. So we're in it for the long haul for season 4."

Nevertheless, the report says that the possibilities of Rollo joining back 'Vikings' is dim, since the show creator Michael Hirst hinted that Aslaug may possibly be leading the team in Season 2. Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Hirst said, "She's had a taste for power while he's been away and when we return in season four, we'll see that she's enjoying that taste."

Hirst further shared that Fimmel's character Ragnar Lothbrok may have some ugly experience from his wife.

Elaborating further, he said, "Aslaug was the daughter of a very famous, almost mythic Viking hero who killed a dragon, according to the sagas. She's reconnecting herself to her Viking roots, which is to some extent making her a darker character but it's also giving her a purpose and strength. Ragnar's got to bump up against that. She is much more her own woman."
