'Vikings' Season 3 Spoilers, News: Ragnar and Troupe Plan Paris Raid, Major Key Character Death
Just a month before the premiere of 'Vikings' Season 3, History Channel has finally released the first trailer of their highly appreciated and hugely popular historical drama series. In the trailer, viewers see Ragnar (portrayed by Travis Fimmel) and his group resting in Wessex, where they plan to undertake another series of loots in the western areas of Paris.
According to Christian Today, the trailer shows an ambitious Ragnar looking beyond his personal realm comprising Kattegat. It also shows the warrior reflecting on his conquests and appears to be inspired to keep fighting to accomplish all his goals.
In the trailer, Ragnar is seen telling his son Bjorn, "We fight. That is how we win. That is how we die."
Meanwhile, in an interview with Zap2It in 2014, 'Vikings' show runner Michael Hirst revealed some teasers counting the storyline of the series for the Paris raid in the new season.
Hirst is qouted by Zap2It as saying, "This isn't a storyline that's going to go away in a couple of episodes. It's a storyline that's going right through the end of Season 3, into Season 4, and it has huge impact on several of our leading characters."
As Ragnar and his troupe will be seen raiding Paris in the upcoming season, it can be safely believed that the massive impact that Hirst mentioned actually related to the death of a major character in 'Vikings' Season 3.
Although a panel asked Clive Standen, who plays the character of Ragnar's brother Rollo, during the 2014 Comic Con if there any character will die during the Paris raid, the actor said nothing that could either confirm or refute this.
For the uninitiated, 'Vikings' is the first ever scripted series to feature in History Channel. The story of the series is based on the exploits of Ragnar Lodbrok, the admired warrior in legendary Norse poetry. 'Vikings' on History Channel is a combination of fiction and real-life accounts rooted in the legend of the Vikings.
The first episode for 'Vikings' Season 3 titled "Mercenary" is schedule to be aired on Feb. 19. This will be followed by the second episode titled "The Wanderer" in the subsequent week.
