'Vikings' Season 3 Premiere Date News: Historical Drama Series Returns in February 2015
Series Creator Michael Hirst recently came out and said that the new season of 'Vikings' will showcase "the dawn of the Viking age". While it may be the year 2014, that does not mean that modern-day fans of the incredibly popular television series will not enjoy the show's history.
Since the dramatic television series first transported us to the cruel world of the Vikings in February, 2014, the Viking characters Ragnar and Lagertha, Rollo, Earl Haraldson and Siggy have won our hearts and our loyalty in a fantastic story of brotherhood. With a growing fan base, Michael plans to launch the Viking age with a whole new cast and story.
"With the promise of new land from the English, Ragnar leads his people to an uncertain fate on the shores of Wessex... But ever the restless wanderer, Ragnar is searching for something more ... and he finds it in the mythical city of Paris," the History channel synopsis reads.
The new cast includes Harbard, a wanderer, the Emperor Charles of France, Princess Gisla, and Kalf- Lagertha's second in command.
Hirst admits that when directing the third season, he did so with the aim to explore several moments that really happened in the Viking's history. "What is amazing about them is how few of them do so much," Michael says, "One of the reasons the Vikings have an incredible reputation for violence and brutality [is] it's because it served them well."
No matter the violent reputation of the Vikings, the series' fans are beside themselves with excitement as we come closer to February 19, 2015, the official premiere date of 'Vikings' Season 3.
