Samsung Galaxy Tab S Marshmallow Update: Owners Enjoy Battery-Saving And Customization Features

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S is still running Lollipop even as everybody has already been talking about the Android Nougat. However, Verizon has announced that it's rolling out the OS update to Marshmallow for its subscribers.

"Verizon Wireless is pleased to announce a software update for your device. This software update has been tested to optimize device performance, resolve known issues and apply the latest security patches," said Verizon in a statement.

According to Android Community, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S Marshmallow update should be good news to subscribers who are still "languishing" on the Lollipop.

With the upgrade, owners of the first generation device can now enjoy the Doze app, which saves a bit of juice on the battery by maximizing usage and going on sleep mode when not in use. They will also get to try on the Google Now on Tap, although fair warning: not everybody is impressed with the app.

Once you update to Samsung Galaxy Tab S Marshmallow from Verizon, your VZ Navigator, Amazon Appstore, WebEx, Amazon Music and e-Meeting will be deleted from your phone. But if you want to reinstall them, you can do so but only through manual method.

There should also be new pen settings and tools available on the new upgrade.

Make sure to check if the Samsung Galaxy Tab S Marshmallow update is ready on your Verizon phone. You should get a prompt because the rollout is not going to be simultaneous. Also, check your connection if it's strong and your phone has enough battery.
