Stefan and Damon could be facing a major challenge in the upcoming episodes of "The Vampire Diaries" season 7, according to recent spoilers.

According to Christian Post, Stefan could not be saved by the protagonists from Julian and it has been rumored that Damon's brother was going to be killed by the villain through fire. While Damon is assumed to be saved by Bonnie, the current situation would put some anxiety to the vampire antagonist.

Stefan's probable death would also present some problems to Caroline, as she knows that Stefan could no longer be revived once his body was burned. Rumors also say that the succeeding episodes would feature a time travel, seeing Caroline give birth to the twins.

Previously, it had been known that Caroline was expecting unborn twins of Alaric, leading to rough roads with her relationship with Stefan; however, she still pursues her concern for the latter.

In other news, Damon is also reported to be in a trouble, since he also needed to fight for his life, according to "The Vampire Diaries" executive producer Caroline Dries. In her interview with the Morning News USA, Dries said that Damon was in every single scene; maybe not every single scene, but a lot of scenes.

According to Dries, the upcoming episode plunged the audience head first into a not-so-typical Damon mess. She added that it was a grueling, frustrating, and hilarious examination of one of fans' favorite and most damaged characters. For the show's executive producer, it turned out that redemption was not easy to find in the murk of Damon's psyche.
