Fans of 'The Vampire Diaries' know that while they are enjoying the new Season 6 episodes each week, two of their favorite characters have been written from the show. For those that may not know, Nina Dobrev, who plays Elena, and Michael Trevino, Tyler, have officially announced that they're leaving the show.

Both characters have been a vital part of the series, but sometimes actors and actresses have other roles and casts to dedicate their time to.

Stepping back, it seems that their departure from the 'Vampire Diaries' cast seems rather final. In an in Instagram post, both the actor and the actress expressed their goodbyes toward their castmates and their fans, in a recording they said:

"We just want to tell the fans how much we're gonna miss them," Dobrev, while Trevino stated, "We love you so much. Bye!"

With regards to the show exit announcement, it doesn't seem that they're too upset about it, as it means that they can move onto other shows and series that fans can watch them in. In the caption of the posted Instagram message, Dobrev writes, "That's a wrap on Elena and Tyler. We were just kids when we started the show, and we still are, six years later."

Accoring to producer Julie Plec, who talked about this matter in a statement, "Even though he's also going to be out in the world exploring new opportunities, we look forward to finding creative ways to make sure he and his character Tyler Lockwood always remain a part of the show."

Beyond that, another cast member of 'The Vampire Diaries' Bonnie, played by Kat Graham had some interesting things to spoil for eager fans.

In an episode of 'Big Morning Buzz' the actress hinted that there's going to be some sort of major fight or battle in the Season 6 finale.

She said, "There's a cool, epic battle in the season finale."

While it cannot be said for sure what's going to happen in the series finale, what can be said for sure is that it will certainly be exciting. Be sure to catch 'The Vampire Diaries' Thursday nights at 8:00 pm EDT.
