With 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 6 drawing to its close, fans will see Stefan (Paul Wesley) compelling (Candice Accola) Caroline to activate her human aspect, and this is going to have a ravaging effect on her.

According to IB Times, Caroline will be embarrassed about all the problems she has caused, and it is likely that this may affect her relationship with Stefan. In fact, Caroline and Stefan never got any chance to enjoy being in a relationship pior to Caroline flipping her humanity mode. Now, it appears that Caroline may not be very successful in the days ahead also.

It is expected that Stefan and Caroline will have an uncomfortable heart-to-heart talk in the penultimate episode of the season, titled 'I'll Wed You in the Golden Summertime,' which will also feature Jo and Alaric's wedding.

In a recent interview with TVGuide, show executive producer Caroline Dries said, "Caroline, like Stefan, is going to feel deeply shamed when all is said and done, and her struggle will be reconciling those feelings and finding a way to move past them." She added, "When she's in the murk of that guilt and remorse, a real relationship with Stefan won't feel possible."

Dries also talked about Nina Dobrev's exit from the show, and teased that the last few scenes of Elena will leave fans teary eyed.

According to the executive producer, "We've had the benefit of knowing about Nina's exit for awhile, so we were able to write what we believe will be the most satisfying goodbye for such a beloved character." Dries further said, "It was emotional to brainstorm, even to write, but I think Julie [Plec, executive producer] will agree that when it came time to put pen to paper, the story just sort of flowed naturally."

When asked what else the fans can expect in 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 6 finale, which will air on May 14, Dries revealed that Kai and Lily Salvatore's traveling companions are preparing to run amok in Mystic Falls. The last time fans saw Kai was when he was trapped in 1903 prison world along with witch-vampire hybrids of Lily Salvatore, who will be the main villains in 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7.

'The Vampire Diaries' airs Thursdays on The CW. 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 6 episode 19 titled 'Because' will be aired on Thursday, April 23.
