With the knowledge that Nina Dobrev will be leaving The Vampire Diaries, fans can assume that her character, Elena will be leaving Mystic Falls for good.

The only thing that they do not know is how exactly her exit from the show will happen, but the upcoming episode, called "I'd Leave My Happy Home" seems to give a clear idea of how Elena will be taking her leave.

Elena has been feeling more and more sad in the last few episodes of the series, because she is trapped in a life where she does not have the ability to have a family of her own.

Despite the fact that she is a vampire, Damon promises her that with the cure, she will be able to attain the future that she dreams of, and he even decides to take it himself so that he can enjoy such a future with his true love.

While Damon seems to have made his decision, Stefan does not support him at all and he thinks that Damon will get into trouble.

Elena is also unsure about the cure, and asks Bonnie for advice, only to receive discouragement, and the introduction of the possibility that she may not love Damon as a human.

The episode promo shows that Elena's doubts are growing stronger and stronger and it appears as though she drinks every drop of the potion in order to prevent Damon from having any.

At the end of the clip, the couple seems to have convinced themselves to jump off of a building, with Elena saying "You only live once."

It is still not known exactly how Elena will leave Mystic Falls and how Season 6 of The Vampire Diaries will end, but Season 6 Episode 20 will be airing on April 30^th.
