Episode 20 of the sixth season of Vampire Diaries starts off with Bachelor and Bachelorette parties. Jo's party guests consist of Bon Bon, Elena, and an exotic dancer, while Alaric invites everyone else in town to his.

Most of the people at his party are enjoying themselves, but Stefan is really missing Caroline, sneaking away from the festivities at one point to call her. Sadly, he only got hold of her voicemail.

Matt was also unhappy, and seemed to be at his breaking point, unhappy with Tyler and with life in general apparently. Matt gets drunk and tells Alaric to leave town to save himself because everyone is just a killer.

Meanwhile, Bonnie and Jo get attacked by Lily Salvatore at Jo's party and Jo saves herself by telling Lily that she is pregnant, which does stop Lily, but not before she tells Jo that she is having twins.

Damon and Elena are still trying to make the decision about whether or not they should take the cure. Damon realizes that Elena is avoiding the discussion, so he comes up with a plan.

He takes Elena back to her old house and tells her that he ready to become human with her because he is in love. She takes the cure and all of her memories come back. She also remembers asking Damon to take the cure for her in Season 4, but him turning her down.

This causes conflict between the two because now he does want to take the cure, and she does not want him to do it before he thinks it through.

So all in all, and at the end of episode 20, Elena is human again.
