Ian Somerhalder won't only be playing Damon Salvatore in the CW drama, The Vampire Diaries. He will be taking on a role that is truly irreplaceable - director!

However, the 36-year-old actor is rumored to be bringing more than his film experience to the next episode of the CW show. His fiancée, 26-year-old Nikki Reed, might be on set as support while Ian directs his co-workers, including ex-girlfriend, Nina Dobrev. Somerhalder's ex-girlfriend and future wife on the show at the same time? Sounds like a drama-filled episode!

Nikki must be proud of her lover for taking on the huge task of directing The Vampire Diaries, but how will she handle the awkward current vs ex-girlfriend introduction? According to Hollywood Life, Nikki just won't meet Nina at all. She won't even visit the set while they are filming.

"One thing that has never been discussed has been having Nikki on set," a source told Hollywood Life, "It's not going to happen, they are separating business and pleasure."

Instead of visiting her beloved, Nikki has made Ian an adorable good luck cake! The scrumptious surprise delicacy looked a bit like vanilla cornbread, covered in strawberries and chocolate chips that spelled out, "Good luck, I love you."

Ian posted a response on one of his social media accounts, saying "The best thing to come home to! Wow, thank you you amazing @iamnikkireed - it's true. I start DIRECTING episode 616 of the Vampire Diaries tomorrow!"

While the actor/director hasn't left us any hints as to what the episode will be about, we are excited to see Ian's director debut!
