It was indeed a rare sight to see two exes reuniting for their last TV show scene. Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev who are known as "Delena" have snapped a few fun but sweet photos together in their last shooting day for 'Vampire Diaries'.

Dobrev seemed like she had such a wonderful time with her ex whom she is apparently still friends with after breaking up in May 2013 after three years of dating. The two sparked their romance in the hit CW show and now, the two are just great friends bidding their goodbyes to the show that once united them as a couple.

Dobrev posted the throwback photo on her Instagram showing snapshots of her and Somerhalder goofing around using a polaroid camera. "#FBF to last week with @IanSomerhalder shooting our final 'Damon and Elena' scene," Dobrev, 26, captioned via Instagram on Friday, April 24. "#TVDFamily #PolaroidSeries," Dobrev wrote as she announced that she is shooting her final scene as Elena with Somerhalder as Damon in the show.

The actress, Dobrev, 36 is now currently dating 'Dancing With The Stars' Derek Hough while Somerhalder, 36 is engaged to 'Twilight' actress Nikki Reed. Both Dobrev and Somerhalder apparently moved on to their new mates and are quite satisfied being just friends.

The show ends this May and apparently, Dobrev's stint as Elena also ends as she previously announced writing, "I always knew I wanted Elena's story to be a six season adventure, and within those six years I got the journey of a lifetime," she wrote in a statement.

"I was a human, a vampire, a doppelganger, a crazy immortal, a doppelganger pretending to be human, a human pretending to be a doppelganger. I got kidnapped, killed, resurrected, tortured, cursed, body-snatched, was dead and undead, and there's still so much more to come before the season finale in May," she continued.

The star of the show also gave a little tease for the fans saying, "I love you all. Fasten your seat belts. If you think you know what's coming, you don't." So fans can follow her advice and wait for the season finale as Dobrev promises it going to be quite surprising.
