Unreleased Kurt Cobain Song News: New Track to Feature in 'Montage of Heck' Documentary Soundtrack
HBO has released the trailer for the Kurt Cobain documentary, Montage of Heck, long before the release of the documentary on the 4th of May.
The documentary, which is directed by Brett Morgen, revolves around the life of of the Nirvana band lead, Cobain from his early days in Aberdeen Washington to his success and downfall and his mystery suicide.
The documentary premiered at the Sundance and now Universal Pictures is planning to release it across in theaters across the globe. The documentary will also premiere on HBO in the United States, according to Rolling Stone.
The two-and-a-half minute trailer, which was released released online, gives a glimpse of Cobain's life through family photos, his childhood days, his transformation into the big rockstar and animated pictures of the musician.
The trailer also has interviews with family members of Cobain, bassist Krist Novoselic, among other candid conversations.
The director, Morgen has announced through his Twitter account that the documentary will also feature a 12-minute acoustic unheard track from Cobain, according to Rolling Stone.
Speaking about the mystery song, Morgen said, "They don't have titles. Before people saw the movie, there were these weird press releases focusing on the unreleased music. And it's like: It's a movie. We're not going to stop it and play a song for four minutes. But nobody in Kurt's life "” not his management, wife, bandmates "” had ever heard his Beatles thing [a snippet of 'And I Love Her']. I found it on a random tape. It's a Paul [McCartney] song. How's that for shattering the myth?" according to CNN.
Apart from the documentary, a companion book is also set to release this year on the 7th of April. The book contains a mixture of animation stills, rare photography and other treasures from Kurt Cobain's personal archive.
