'Warcraft', 'Pacific Rim 2' Release Date Delay: Universal Movie Schedule Change - Push Back Films Due to 'Furious 8'
At CinemaCon, it was announced that Fast and Furious 8 would be released in two years time on April 14th, 2017. This announcement was made by Vin Diesel, and no one was surprised at all about it.
On the other hand, fans were happy that there was confirmation that the extremely popular franchise would be continuing despite the death of one of the lead actors, Paul Walker.
Soon after that announcement, several release dates have been shifted. Films including Pacific Rim 2, Warcraft, The Mummy and an untitled Universal Monster Franchise Film were all bumped due to this new development.
Warcraft was moved from March 11th 2016 to June 10th 2016. Mena is scheduled to be released on January 6th, 2017. Fifty Shades Darker is set to be released on February 10th, 2017.
The Mummy, which was originally slated to hit the big screen on June 24th, 2016 is now scheduled to be released on March 24th, 2017. Pacific Rim 2 was bumped from April 7th, 2017 to August 4th, 2017.
Fifty Shades Freed will be going to theaters on February 9th, 2018 and the Untitled Universal Monster Franchise Film was moved from April 21st, 2017 to March 30th 2018.
While it is not a surprise to fans that Warcraft has been pushed to put some distance between Batman V Superman, which is being released on March 25th, some are shocked to see that it has been placed in the middle of the summer movie season.
Hopefully this is a good thing for the movie, which has been waiting for release for almost a year.
