Universal Orlando Resort's Rock the Universe 2012 Returns This September With Christian Rock's Hottest Bands

Universal Orlando Resort's Rock the Universe 2012 - Florida's biggest Christian music festival - will take place this Sept. 7 and 8.  Guests will enjoy a faith-filled weekend featuring performances by top Christian music talent, inspirational stories from celebrity speakers, an expanded Coca-Cola Fan Zone, the ability to rock out to their favorite Rock the Universe artists at 65 mph on Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit and more.

This year's line-up features some of the most popular names in Christian rock.  Sixteen hit bands will take the stage, including Skillet - which was awarded a Billboard Music Award for "Top Christian Album" in 2011; four-time Grammy-nominated band Newsboys; rock group Switchfoot, which won a 2011 Grammy Award for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album; and eleven-time Dove award winner tobyMac. This year's event features celebrity speakers that will appeal to all ages.  Former American Idol contestant and singer-songwriter Jason Castro and child actress Bailee Madison will share inspirational, faith-filled messages with Rock the Universe guests.

Guests this year will also enjoy an even bigger Fan Zone presented by Coca-Cola, including live music by up-and-coming acts Everfound, We As Human and Jason Castro, autograph sessions with the Fan Zone bands, karaoke and band merchandise. The event will close Saturday night with a candlelighting ceremony, featuring music from Tenth Avenue North.  

Plus, guests can enjoy the thrilling attractions only found at Universal Studios Florida.  They can rock out to their favorite Rock the Universe artists at 65 mph on Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, be transformed into a minion on the all-new hilarious and heartwarming Despicable Me Minion Mayhem and speed through the darkness on the world's first psychological thrill ride - Revenge of the Mummy.    

Guests can rock out the entire weekend with the "Rock Your Weekend" ticket, which includes admission to both nights of the event and three days' admission to both Universal Studios Florida and Universal's Islands of Adventure.  This is only available for purchase now through Aug. 31 and will not be sold at the park entrance.
