'Underground' TV Show Cast, Spoilers: Season Premiere Will Be 'Thrilling and Violent?'

Thrills and violence are two words that can be linked to the first season of the season premiere of "Underground."

According to TV, "Underground" season 1 managed to shift its gears from a slave story to a "thrilling" and action-packed events that portrays the pain, impact, and magnitude of a real-life tragedy. As per the publication, the series writers, Misha Green and Joe Pokaski, director Anthony Hemingway, and executive producer John Legend had their "wondrous" and sophisticated options that give way to the twist of the series' overall story arc.

The publication added that the season 1 premiere managed to show the driven and perceptive Noah (Aldis Hodge) and his group through the outdoors as they escape from their foes.

In line with being a slavery film, violence is another element assumed to be present in "Underground" season 1. According to International Business Times, beatings, whippings, verbal abuse, and other inhumane doings shall be seen in the show. As per the publication, such elements fall to the reason why Noah's group wants to escape, despite of extreme peril.

Created by Misha Green and Joe Pokakshi, "Underground" is an American television period drama series. it chronicles a group of slaves attempting a daring 600-mile escape from a Georgia plantation. In the process, they are helped by a secret abolitionist people operating a station on the Underground Railroad as they try to hide from people who will bring them back to their origins, whether they are dead or alive.

The series stars Theodus Crane, Johnny Ray Gill, Adina Porter, Mykelti Williamson, Marc Blucas, Renwick Scott, Amirah Vann, Jessica De Gouw, Alano Miller, Christopher Meloni, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, and Aldis Hodge.

"Underground" season 1 aired on Mar. 9 on WGN America.
