Ronda Rousey News: Champ Talks About the One Star that Gives Her Trouble
UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is perhaps the biggest MMA star in the world. UFC 190, an event she headlined in Brazil with a relatively week undercard managed to trump the highly successful UFC 189 on its way to becoming 2-15's largest UFC pay-per-view event, and one of the biggest in the promotion's history.
As noted by Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports, on fight night, some of the world's biggest celebrities, from sporting greats like Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Aaron Rordgers, to Hollywood Stars like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Demi Lovato and Sylvester Stallone were tweeting about her.
Rousey has managed to keep a level head despite her rousing success both as a fighter and as a global celebrity, but when it comes to one person, as pointed out by a Yahoo Sports report, she isn't quite so cool.
"I lose it around Harrison Ford," Rousey told Yahoo Sports. "I don't know why, but I do. I was so obsessed with "Star Wars.' The first action movie I ever saw was "Temple of Doom.' Oh my God. Han Solo. I was in love with him for so long," she shared.
"I was just staring at him," the undefeated champion recalls of the time she met Ford. "And I kept looking at him and I'm saying to myself, "I'm blowing it. I'm blowing it.' It's an art, I've realized, to make people around you feel comfortable and that's sort of what I've tried to learn to do," Rousey said, adding that if UFC president Dana White invited Ford to sit cageside at one of her fights, that might be the one to kill her wining streak.
Rousey is again set to break UFC records at UFC 193, which is scheduled on Nov. 14 at the massive Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. She is slated to defend her title against former boxing champion Holly Holm.
