'Uncharted' Movie News: Director Shawn Levy Talks About Casting, Tone; Director Neil Talks Thoughts On Film?
In line with the forthcoming "Uncharted" film, "Stranger Things" director Shawn Levy has reportedly begun the film's search for its leading man. Also, game director Neil Druckmann shared his thoughts on the film.
In his interview with io9, Levy revealed that he was going to make casting the lead character Nathan drake very easy. He said that he did have some people in mind and he had started some very "secret" and low-grade conversations and explorations of actors.
"And I literally need to stop talking now," Levy said.
Levy also said that other drafts had had viable plots, adding that he almost felt like they had a really cool and unique plot. The director also spoke of the film's tone, explaining that they had a tone that he and film writer Joe Carnahan were channeling right into the script. He said that Drake is set to be a combination of real guy, heroism, snarky, and funny wit. About the tone, he said that they had figured out the tone in an exciting way.
Meanwhile, "Uncharted" game director Druckmann also shared his mind about the forthcoming video game-based film. On Nov. 1, he wrote on Twitter that he had not met Carnahan and he did not know his take on the material, so he had no opinion on the script.
In terms of plot, the film follows fortune hunter Nathan Drake, who locates the popular golden city, after learning El Dorado's location. Also part of the story is his recovery of the treasure left by his ancestor Sir Francis Drake, as per reports.
For the time being, exact details on "Uncharted" film's characters, exact plot details, and release date are yet to be revealed.
