‘Uncharted 4’ Game Details, News: Nathan Drake Sacrifices New Life with Elena

Naughty Dog is preparing for the release of its action adventure shooter game 'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End', and before the game is even out, the company is already saying that it will offer the "ultimate 'Uncharted' experience."

'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End' is set to come out exclusively for the PlayStation 4 later this year, and creative director Neil Druckmann and game developer Bruce Straley talked about the game and its development during an interview with Game Informer for their February cover story.

"Making 'Uncharted 4' is hard. Making every game is really hard," Straley said, "We want to create an experience that resonates with the player, and what we're trying to do is create amazingly rich characters and an adventure that these characters can go on."

He also added, "We as players, we want to play a game that is the ultimate 'Uncharted' that we think this thing could be. It has such potential."

Druckman also offered his thoughts, saying, "This is the 'Uncharted' we feel like we want to make and the culmination of everything we've learned on 'Uncharted' and 'The Last Of Us'."

Not only that, but the game will also focus a lot on Nathan Drake and the return of his brother, who he thought was deceased.

During the previous installments, gamers joined Drake in his adventures, from facing his traumatic past to eventually falling in love with Elena and, in 'Uncharted 3', putting a life of adventure on hold to marry her.

With 'Uncharted 4' though, Drake will see the return of his older brother Sam, who has Drake join him on a quest to find a mythical pirate colony. However, Drake's decision to follow his brother will have consequences, namely leaving Elena behind.

Storywriter Josh Scherr said, "Drake is doing something for his brother, but there is a cost to that, which maybe everyone else is not going to be keen on that idea."

Druckmann agreed, adding, "You can't have the adventure life and settle down with the person you love."
