‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’ Release Date, Review: Improved Graphics for PS4, To Arrive July 2015?
During the PlayStation Experience event in Nevada, Naughty Dog released some gameplay footage and images for their upcoming 'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End' game, and it's looking to be a testament to the graphics power of the PlayStation 4.
Naughty Dog is not kidding around when they showed the improved graphics and visual appearance of protagonist Nathan Drake during their panel at PS EX entitled, "Modeling Nathan Drake: Bringing an Iconic Character to PS4."
The modelers and artists showed fans a behind-the-scenes look on how they rebuilt their iconic treasure hunter Drake. They released almost 20 images that compared Drake's previous character model with the new one, going for a more "filmic" and "cinematic" look. They also revealed that Drake now had 850 different facial animations, compared to the previous installment which only had 120.
Drake's look wasn't the only detail that the developers looked at as they also put a lot of thought and effects into the water and the wind in the game that will affect the player.
They explained that the graphics will even show the way the water affects Drake's hair and clothes, showing weight, depth and gravity when the character gets doused, and will lighten him up or darken him if he gets in and out the water to give it a realistic look. They also collaborated with the department handling the wind effect to make sure the same effect applies.
For fans who are raring to try the 'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End', Sony has yet to confirm a release date, but Tesco may have accidentally revealed that a release date was primed exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on July 31, 2015.
Sony has yet to comment on Tesco's outing, so it's still unsure if the date is legitimate.
For gamers and fans who want to view Naughty Dogs' panel and check out all the graphics and behind-the-scenes details, an hour-long video uploaded to the official PS EX YouTube account and available for viewing.
