'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End' Release Date, News: Nathan Drake's Treasure-Hunting Journey To End? [Trailer]
On Wednesday, December 23, Naughty Dog announced that "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will be released on April 26, 2016 in North America instead of the previously announced March 18. The game has been delayed twice already. The initial release window was originally set for the last quarter of the year 2015.
According to Christian Post, Naughty Dog stated to the public that the reason for the delay is because several key sequences from the game still needs more polishing to be truly finished. Despite the number of delays, "Uncharted" fans support the developer's decision; trusting them since they have provided all the gamers a high quality of gaming experience ever since they launched the very first game of the series.
On September 1, Colin Moriarty, the co-founder of a podcast site, KindaFunny, predicted through a tweet that the previous March 18 release date will be delayed again. He turned out to be correct with his hunch and developer Neil Druckmann acknowledges Moriarty's tweet. Druckmann made an announcement through twitter about the game's delay and even included "#colinwasright" on his statement.
"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" is reported to be the closing chapter of Nathan Drake's action-packed treasure-hunting journey. There are also speculations that this game will be the final game of the series.
The first "Uncharted" game was released on November 6, 2007 and since then has sold over 21 million copies worldwide. Metacritic gave the three Uncharted game great review scores with "Uncharted 2" scoring the highest.
