‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’ Gameplay Details, Release Date Still Unknown: Developers Introduce New Combat Moves
New reports are claiming the the upcoming title, 'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End', will offer more combat options compared to its predecessors.
Aside from the game's protagonist Nathan Drake's ability to climb, hide, sneak and fire, he can now fight off enemies while sliding in the mud. The game's creative director Neil Druckman revealed the additional options.
"With the versatility of Nathan Drake, with adding set pieces that weren't necessarily in this demo, how do you get a bigger flow, something that is deeper at an emotional level? All those things come together to make the Uncharted that we want to play," Druckman said.
The director discussed that they have discovered the "bigger flow" for 'Uncharted 4' when the player is not in hiding. The combat options are highly useful when Nathan must survive the battle while moving forward.
As it stands, the team is currently busy with the preparation of the mechanics of the highly-anticipated title.
'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End' happens three years after the events that took place in 'Uncharted 3'. For those that don't know, Nathan is in a relationship with Elena Fisher and they are living together.
Nathan's younger brother Sam will suddenly appear after a long hiatus and will ask for help from his brother to find the work of art from Henry Avery. Convinced by his brother's plea, Nathan embarks again on a treasure hunting journey.
The brothers will go on an adventure and Sam will lead Nathan to the fictional place Libertalia in Madagascar. The pair will also continue to treasure hunt in snowy mountains.
'Uncharted 4' is not only filled with adventure but it will also explore Nathan and Sam's relationship. The younger Drake is described as more "adventurous and carefree" than the older one. Sam's mindset may create a conflict or sibling rivalry in the course of the game.
Other than that, two treasure hunters named Nadine and Rafe who will use a different style in hunting will be the Drake brothers' rival.
'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End' will be released this year, but no specific date has been announced yet.
