UFC News: Women’s Fights Set to Dominate UFC 195; Nurmagomedov to Return vs. Tony Ferguson

Following UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey's announcement on "Good Morning America" that she'll be facing Holly Holm at UFC 195 on Jan. 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, the L.A. Times reported that UFC president Dana White has revealed that strawweight champion Joana Jedrzejczyk would be defending her title against Claudia Gadelha in the co-main event.

As noted by an MMA Weekly report, Gadelha found her way into title contention with her dominating unanimous decision victory over former World Series of Fighting women's strawweight champion Jessica Aguilar at UFC 190. Gadelha and Jedrzejczyk first fought in December of 2014, which Gadelha lost via split decision.

White also disclosed that he is looking into the possibility of putting a fight between Miesha Tate and Amanda Nunes on the same card, which would be the first time three women's fights are on the same main card.

Tate was initially expected to fight Rousey for the third time, but White and the rest of the higher-ups ultimately decided against it.

"With Miesha, the result has been the same twice," White said. "Everyone's already seen that fight."

Adding, "When you talk about the possibilities of what Holly can do, the Holly Holm fight for Ronda is way more intriguing."

Meanwhile, UFC officials also announced recently that The Ultimate Fighter Finale for season 22 would be taking place on Friday, Dec. 11 in Las Vegas, the night before the massive title unification fight between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor at UFC 194.

The fight card will feature the return from injury of No. 3 ranked lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov against Tony Ferguson (ranked No. 9 in the division). The UFC has yet to declare a headliner or a venue for the event.

Nurmagomedov has been out of commission with knee issue since April 2014.
