UFC 2015 News: White Denies UFC Offered ‘Cyborg’ Fight Against Rousey in Cowboys Stadium

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz stirred controversy during his Friday appearance on AXS TV's "Inside MMA" when he said Cris "Cyborg" Justino was offered, and accepted, a fight in Cowboys Stadium against UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.

"I've heard from Cris [Justino] actually that the fight that's supposed to be happening at the Cowboys arena"¦They offered the fight to Cris," Ortiz said. "I know her management said yes and I've told her, "Let's do it.' So I guess the ball's all in Ronda [Rousey]'s corner and Ronda wants to do it. Dana [White] said if Cris came down to 135, they'll make the fight happen, so let's see if Ronda accepts the fight."

As reported by Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports, UFC president Dana White has not offered Justino any fight, much less a fight against Rousey at Cowboys Stadium. As noted by Iole, a potential matchup between the undefeated champion and the former Strikeforce title holder could be one of the biggest fights in UFC history, with White predicting it could do more than 2 million PPV buys should it be made in the future.

"That's a complete lie," White told Yahoo Sports. "It's 100 percent a lie. First of all, the UFC doesn't even talk to Tito Ortiz, so let's start there. But we haven't offered any fight to [Justino]. Tito Ortiz is just making the [expletive] up. In no way, shape or form did we offer her a fight against Ronda at Cowboys Stadium. Completely untrue."

Adding, "The problem is, this kind of thing gets out there and picks up momentum when there is no truth to it. And it was just something that he decided to make up. But it's not true."

Last Friday, White congratulated Rousey on her many accomplishments in 2015, which included having the No. 1 UFC PPV event of the year, with UFC 190. White sent out the tweet while no exact PPV numbers have surfaced yet.
