UFC Fight Night 59 News: Conor McGregor vs. Dennis Siver in Boston

On January 18, short of a week from today, the world is going to find out if the Conor McGregor takeover of the UFC Featherweight division carries on when he faces his most seasoned opponent yet, Dennis Siver on UFC Fight Night 59.

McGregor, who is nicknamed "The Notorious," does not shy away from also trying to play Nostradamus, as he has a couple of predictions lined up ahead of his fight in what he considers his second home in Boston.

"I feel I will stop Dennis Siver inside two minutes," was among the latest of the Irish man's verbal display of his supreme confidence in his abilities, as he said during UFC 182.

"I've ran through some scenarios, I cannot see him escaping the first two minutes. He is my most experienced competitor that I will ever have faced, but I feel that under two minutes it will take me to dispatch him."

McGregor's fight against Siver will only be the Irishman's fifth fight in the UFC, yet UFC president Dana White has already confirmed that should he continue his winning ways on UFC Fight Night 59, a title shot awaits the rising MMA star against reigning UFC Featherweight champion Jose Aldo.

That fact would put an enormous amount of pressure on any other fighter, but McGregor, it appears, is not any other fighter.

"It's exactly as I said it was going to be. I said football stadiums. I said world titles. This is what I said and this is what is happening. It's a beautiful thing when you have the ability to predict the future, and that is what I feel I have," said McGregor during UFC 182, while also insisting that he doesn't look past Siver, but instead, "through him."

Should he deliver on his promise against Siver, McGregor has made it no secret that he wants his title shot to be held in a football stadium in Ireland, something White has yet to confirm.

"This fight in Boston, if he wins this fight, he's going to fight for the title. I don't know where yet," White said in an interview with FOX Sports.

McGregor and Siver tops the bill of the UFC Fight Night 59 card that also features Benson Henderson vs. Donald Cerrone, and Uriah Hall vs. Louis Taylo.
