On Saturday, February 28, a battle of undefeated fighters is set to capture all fight fans' attention when reigning UFC Women's Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey (10-0) faces what could prove to be her toughest challenge to date in Cat Zingano (9-0) in UFC 184 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Throughout her undefeated run in MMA, including her five title defenses, Rousey has only gone past the first round once. But pundits opine that the groundbreaking women's MMA superstar has never faced someone with the pedigree of Zingano.

The similarly undefeated Zingano brings with her great athleticism, top-shelf jiu jitsu, explosive striking, along with great strength.

But when the two fighters face off this Saturday, Rousey will be facing a fighter with something no one has brought to the octagon against her before"”a great story.

As Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports points out, that when Zingano was a freshman in college, her close friend was murdered.

She was supposed to star opposite Rousey in the Ultimate Fighter, which would be followed by a title shot, but she blew out her knee.

That injury would become two knee injuries, and would cost her a job in television, along with the chance to be a UFC champion.

But those challenges were nothing compared to what she faced over a year ago when her husband and coach, Mauricio Zingano, committed suicide in their Denver home.

"I feel overwhelmingly supported [by the MMA community]. It's great that people have that humanistic empathy and can be real about things like that. I don't know how many people have gone through struggles and can be real about things like that," Zingano said.

"I don't know how many people have gone through struggles like this or are experiencing it now, but it's unique and in an odd sense, enlightening. Once you feel this kind of pain and suffer this kind of thing, it brings you to a different understanding of what life is about and what's important and who's important."

The matchup between the two is the most anticipated fight in women's MMA history.
