The Bruins (9-3) are looking to avoid a possible two game losing streak when they face the Wildcats in the Valero Alamo Bowl.

"We are a young team that is hungry and still developing, and this is just going to be another step in our progression," said UCLA head coach Jim L. Mora to reporters.

"For us a chance to play a tremendous team on a big stage and I think that is how you grow as a competitor."

Previously, the Bruins lost to the Stanford Cardinal by a final score of 31-10, after UCLA QB Brett Hundley went 17-32 for 146 yards with a touchdown in a losing effort on November 28.

"The reward we would have got for winning [that] game, it hurts," said UCLA LB Myles Jack to reporters, "We were aware of what was to come if we handled our business, but it didn't happen that way."

Meanwhile, the Wildcats (9-3) are looking to evade a potential two game losing streak when they go toe-to-toe with the Bruins at the Alamodome.

"Obviously, finishing the season the right way is very significant," said Kansas State head coach Bill Snyder to reporters.

"We have been on both sides of the ledger, and obviously to finish the way you desire too is much more palatable, I think."

The Wildcats recently lost to their Big 12 opponents the Baylor Bears by a final score of 38-27, after QB Jake Waters went 22-27 for 300 yards, which was highlighted by two touchdown and an interception on November 29.
