Uber App News: Latest Tweaks To Make Things Easier For Users
Good news Uber users as the app is getting its first major makeover since 2012. The tweaks are meant to make it easier for the users, even the first-timers, to navigate through the options and interface.
Although the changes are mostly to streamline the app, among the changes is a cool feature that would allow the users to see the color of the Uber driver's car.
The Verge confirmed that the Uber app now being more streamlined as it noted that it has become "bloated" over the years with additions that have been found to be rather useless.
However, there's no news on any safety guarantee for the users, nor is there any new information that addressed the complaints by the drivers of racial discrimination by their customers.
Another major tweak is to organize the choices into three: Economy, Premium and Extra Seats, the latter obviously means SUVs, vans and other large vehicles. There's also a special option called More, which caters to particular needs such as persons with disabilities or to accommodate small infants.
CEO Travis Kalanick shared the news about the Uber app during the press briefing on Tuesday.
It's not just a normal update," he said. "This is a radical redesign and rebuild of the app from scratch."
He was the first to admit that program "got more complicated" over the years as they added more features into the Uber app. "We needed a new system to deal with the growing set of features that were piling up on an older design," Kalanick explained.
