'Two and a Half Men' Season 12 Finale Air Date, Latest News Update: CBS Announces Feb. 12, 2015 as Date
CBS has just announced that the 'Two and a Half Men' series is finally coming to an end in early 2015. According to Christian Today, Season 12 will be the final season of the popular television show and it will end on Feb. 19 with an hour-long special episode.
In fact, the end of 'Two and a Half Men' will also mean that Ashton Kutcher might not remain as the highest paid actor on TV. Some time back, Forbes reported that Ashton Kutcher reportedly earned more than $24 million during the period between June 2012 and June 2013 after he took over the hit comedy sitcom.
Interestingly, Jon Cryer, who portrays the character of Alan Harper in the show, is said to be the second highest earning TV actor, having earned $21 million between June 2012 and June 2013.
Kutcher joined 'Two and a Half Men' in Season 9 of the show and has been portraying the character of Walden since the producers chose to write off Charlie Harper, the character played by Charlie Sheen, owing to problems due to the actor's drug abuse as well as his complaint against the show's executive producer Chuck Lorre.
As the news of 'Two and a Half Men' end became public, Sheen is reported to have lobbied for a cameo role during the series finale. According to Sheen, while nearly every one associated with the show was ready to fulfill his wish, but Lorre was sternly against him.
In one interview, Sheen is reported to have said, "Here's what sucks. I got clearance from the whole cast. Les Moonves [CBS President and CEO] ... All the suits. There's one guy who's blocking it."
While Sheen named Lorre indirectly, as the one not allowing for his return to the show, the actor admitted that the odds are actually slim.
According to the website, the show, especially the 12th series, has been bogged with controversies. For instance, Angus T. Jones, who played the main character of Jake, resigned from the sitcom earlier this year when he converted to Seventh-Day Adventist. After he quit the show, Jones alleged that the plot of 'Two and a Half Men' is a "filth that contradicts his moral values."
