Twitch App Update News: VODs Now Available on All Apple & Android Mobile Devices
As Twtich.Tv grows more and more popular by the day, app users are constantly awaiting new updates and features they can avail to make stream watching all the more enjoyable. In an official blog post, Twitch has gone ahead and announced that VODs (Videos on Demand) are now available on the Twitch app.
For those that may not know, the Twitch app lets mobile users conveniently watch live streams of their favorite games and players on their Apple or Android devices. However, until now, highlights and videos posted on players' channels have not been accessible through the app.
The new feature seems have been user influenced as the official post says, "You've been asking for it, we've been working on it, and it's finally here: VODs on mobile!"
Evidently, Twitch app users have been making it known what updates and changes they've like to see to the program to enhance their viewing experience.
Moving into how app users can access the newly accessible VODs, the blog post goes ahead and provides the simple step-by-step.
According to Twitch.Tv:
- If you're watching a live channel, tap the Activity Feed icon located on the player. For iOS this is on the top left of the player, and for Android it's on the bottom left.
- If you're on the Search page or Following directory, tapping any offline channel will also take you directly to the Activity Feed.
Beyond all that, the post also mentioned some important information that Android users should know about the new update. While the new update requires users to download the app and install it all over again (instead of simply updating it), it's for the best.
Apparently, the changes made to the Android version of the Twtich app will patch up a possible security problem or vulnerability in the app.
Android users should delete their own version of the program and go ahead and download the latest update here. Last but not least, Android users who do not download and install the latest version, will find out that their app no longer works.
