'Twin Peaks' Reboot Teaser Trailer Released, Premiere Date? [VIDEO]

Recently, Showtime has offered a sneak peak at its "Twin Peaks" revival. The remake is set to be aired in 2017. Showtime released a teaser for the drama created by David Lynch. The show was originally televised from 1990 to 1991 on ABC.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show is now set to return as a limited series on ABC sometime in 2017. The trailer was also reported to air during the season finales of "Homeland and The Affair" this coming Sunday.

In the trailer, we see a foggy forest view from a high angle. We also see the crew put up the sign that reads: "Welcome to Twin Peaks" added by "Population 51,201."

As all of those were rolling, the narrator says:

"Location sometimes becomes a character. There are a lot of holy places up here, a lot of sacred places. I can't put my finger on how I would describe it. It just touches something in the psyche."

The scene was then followed by a blurry/foggy clip of a man screaming.

The show is currently in production and is directed by Lynch himself. Actor Kyle MacLachlan will reprise his role in the reboot as the FBI agent named Dale Cooper.

Shortly after the release of the teaser trailer, "Twin Peaks" fans have taken it to different social media channels to intensify the hype. The show will be airing its new episode in 2017 after 26 years. In the era of remakes and comic book adaptations, an interesting question would be: How will this new series rate from the fans and critics?
