'Twin Peaks' Cast News Update: Actor Michael Cera Going To Do In A Mystery Thriller?

The "Twin Peaks" cast is now complete, and it includes one weird addition-the always awkward Michael Cera.

There are no details yet on what role Michael Cera will play, but it will certainly surprise some people if David Lynch is able to maximize the "fish-out-of-water" character that the actor has pulled off for much his career.

Michael Cera he will join the original "Twin Peaks" cast of Kyle MacLachlan as Special Agent Dale Cooper, David Duchovny as Agent Dennis, Miguel Ferrer as Agent Albert Rosenfield, Harry Goaz as Deputy Andy Brennan, Madchen Amick as Shelly Johnson, Sherilyn Fenn as Audrey Horne.

The soundtrack itself will be worth the price of admission as Pearl Jam, Sky Ferreira, Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor, Sharon Van Etten were all tapped to contribute to the music for the series.

There is a slew of newcomers in the "Twin Peaks" cast: they include veteran actors Jennifer Jason Leigh, Ashley Judd, Monica Bellucci, Naomi Watts, Laura Dern, Tim Roth, Mark Frost and Balthazar Getty.

The Verge reports that Naomi Watts, Laura Dern and Balthazar Getty have appeared in David Lynch's works at one time or the other.

"Twin Peaks" cast Kyle Maclachlan told Rolling Stone, "Revisiting all this territory, there's a freshness to it, there's a lightness to it. We knew it was going to be something special, we just didn't know in what form, or how."

 

For his part, Miguel Ferrer remarked, "It's a big cast, it's a big story, big things happen."
