The actor who played the next door neighbor of Kristin Stewart or Bella Swan in the famous movie Twilight, Michael Welch is now engaged after asking his girlfriend for her hand in marriage last night.

It was definitely one of the most romantic proposals ever as Welch bent down on one knee on the stage of a Beverly Hills charity event for a youth organization working to end the global water crisis and asked his girlfriend and model Samantha Maggio to be with him forever.

Of course there were several photographs taken of the proposal as there were hundreds of people there to witness and cheer for the two. Welch even posted a photo of himself and Maggio who raised her left hand to show her gigantic diamond ring on Twitter which Welch wrote, "Well I had a pretty good night... #ThirstGala," as caption for the photo.

In another photo taken by the organizers of the event, Thirst project, they posted a photo of the 27-year-old actor kneeling on one knee with his girlfriend by the podium and obviously shocked. The organizers wrote, "There has never been a #thirstgala like this before! Congrats to Michael Welch and his fiancé!" as caption to the photo they posted on Instagram.

It was quite a memorable night for Welch and with him are several famous faces like YouTube stars Andrea Russett, Connor Franta and Kian Lawley who attended the event. Well, apparently, although there were no photos, Welch's co-star Stewart was also reportedly present since Welch posted on twitter announcing her attendance writing, "Looking forward to seeing my old pal Kristen Stewart tonight at #ThirstGala. :) #TwilightReunion @thirstproject."

Well, congratulations to the future Mr. and Mrs. Welch!
