'True Detective' Season Two New Cast News, Plot Update: Rachel McAdams, Taylor Kitsch, and Kelly Reilly

It's official, 'True Detective' Season 2 adds Rachel McAdams, Taylor Kitsch, and Kelly Reilly as leading cast members who will take part in a murder conspiracy story.

The three actors will join the crime drama series and portray important roles in the second season which will showcase some seriously complex situations.

McAdams will play as Ani Bezzerides, a Ventura County Sheriff that would encounter challenges due to her firm values and beliefs. The Canadian actress is well known for her movies 'Mean Girls', 'The Notebook' and 'Sherlock Holmes'.

Kitsch will portray as a war veteran and a California Highway motorcycle patrol officer with a dark past. The actor is not new in TV dramas since he starred as high school football star Tim Riggins in 'Friday Night Lights'.

Reilly is the criminal Frank Seymon's wife Jordan who is a former actress and a supporter of her husband's activities. 'Sherlock Holmes', 'Flight', and 'Eden Lake' are some of the movies that feature the English actress.

In the first season, there were eight episodes in Louisiana about hunting a serial killer for 17 years. The lead detective roles were played by Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. The story ended in with murderer Errol Childress captured.

Time time around, Season 2 will revolve around a town in Southern California which will showcase intriguing and dark episodes. Evidently, the three new characters will get involved in a murder case conspiracy.

'True Detectiv' creator Nic Pizzolatto said that season two will show "hard women, bad men and the secret occult of the United States transportation system."

HBO has already started filming for the second season and plans to televise the series in the Summer of 2015.
