Fans of 'True Detective' are getting ready for the upcoming second season of the popular HBO series as it's set to return with an all new cast. Beyond that, an interview with lead actor Vince Vaughn, revealed that Season 2 will very different than the first.

On a side note 'True Detective' Season 2 has tapped some pretty big name actors and actresses. Vince Vaughn, Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, Taylor Kitsch and Kelly Reilly will all be featured in the upcoming installment of the series.

Stepping into the interview with Playboy Vince Vaughn, the actor said, "[Showrunner] Nic Pizzolatto is such a great writer, and so much of this is driven by his stories."

He goes on to says, "I thought Woody and Matthew did an exceptional job with the first season. This one's very different, though. It's a totally different story, with its own characters. The thing that's consistent is the richness of the characters and the quality of the material."

Evidently, fans of 'True Detective' can expect Season 2 to be taken in an entirely new direction. First off, the show has a new setting. Instead of taking place in Louisiana, the series will be showcased in California.

Vaughn said, "That was Louisiana. This is a California-based story, and it was kind of birthed from here. A lot of it is set in Los Angeles."

For those that may not know, Vince Vaughn will be taking on the role of Frank Seyman who's a criminal. Seyman is trying to move his business into the legal sector, a move that was sparked by the murder of his business partner.

On that note, the 'Wedding Crashers' star says that he really enjoys his character, he said, "I really like my character. Nic is so great about investigating characters and their complexities in an authentic and engaging way," adding, "I want to watch this show not because I'm in it but as a fan of the material."

Unfortunately, there's no release date set for 'True Detective' Season 2, so fans will have to wait for that announcement. However, with regards to rumors, Season 2 is allegedly going to premiere in the middle of 2015.
